Staff vs Students

The students won 15-14

This week Greenacre held the third annual Staff Vs Students football match in celebration of the World Cup in Brazil.
In the biggest game yet the staff took an early lead and were 4-1 up after the initial ten minutes. Some questionable goal keeping gave the Students a big chance and they capitalised scoring 7 goals in the next 10 minutes to gain an 8-5 lead.  The students lead at half time but the staff fought back to go into a late lead 14-13 with 2 minutes remaining.
It was girl power that won it for the students as Beth and Hayley claimed the last 2 goals to win the game by a single goal.

Greenacre Pupil Katie Elliott can now proudly describe herself as a published author.
Her collection of short stories about a cat named Wilma and the adventures that her friends embark on is now available in paperback format or to download from Amazon for your Kindle.
The stories have achieved a five star rating on Amazon and well as peaking at number 1 in children's fiction about cats.
It doesn't stop there, for Katie has appeared in the Barnsley Chronicle and could be heard on Hallam FM.
This inspirational pupil's work can also be found in the Millennium Children's library in Norfolk.
Milly Johnnson, the author of several number one works of literature has confirmed that she is attending her book launch.
Make sure you order "The Adventures of Wilma the Cat" before they sell out.

Sports Day

All Pupils were split into countries this year to celebrate the World Cup and Tour de France.
Brazil were the winners of Tour de Greenacre finishing their laps in the pouring rain to claim victory.
The whole school were joined by parents and carers on the field for Sports Day where Italy took the title with a late flurry of points in the wheelchair Slalom.
Well done to everyone involved and big thankyou to everyone who helped make it happen.
